Angela Mao mania is taking over Japan...

King/Fortune Star/FILMeX got Angela to travel from the U.S. to Japan to make a very rare public appearance at TOKYO FILMeX 2007 on November 24:

She was at TOKYO FILMeX 2007 for a showing of her masterpiece Hapkido. Here are more photos of her appearance at TOKYO FILMeX 2007:

Hopefully King got an interview with Angela for their upcoming DVDs. King's Shaw Brothers DVDs have exclusive interviews so I think the chances are very good that we will see an interview with her on one of King's DVDs.

If that isn't enough, King is organizing an Angela Mao Film Festival. It starts on December 1 and will feature 10 of her films (some of them have never been shown before in Japan):
-Broken Oath
-Lady Whirlwind
-Thunderbolt
-Stoner
-The Invincible Eight
-Hapkido
-The Angry River
-When Taekwondo Strikes
-The Tournament
-The Himalayan

Official websites for the film festival:

If you miss any of the 10 films, King will be releasing all of them on DVD beginning in January:

Only 5 DVDs have been officially announced but King has already said that they will be releasing these 10 films on DVD.

All hail King for giving Angela her due and doing an exceptional job at promoting their upcoming Angela DVD releases!

Entertainer Shoko Nakagawa (daughter of the late Katsuhiko Nakagawa) is a big HK film fan and she has posted some photos of her and Angela from last week on her blog:

There will indeed be Angela Mao interviews on the King DVDs! In between her appearances at TOKYO FILMeX (November 24) and the Angela Mao Film Festival (December 1), she did multiple interviews for the DVDs and the guy who did the interviews has posted a few tidbits on his blog:

The interviews sound awesome. King is the best!
